Main floor printer
John reported the following experience Sunday evening:
The printer went out of whack last night for a while, with this scary message “external hardware failure” or something like that. Turns out that someone had nearly unplugged the thing and almost removed the network cable that goes from the printer to the brick column near where it’s situated.
I suspect this happened by accident, not maliciously. Once I reconnected, it all worked fine.
Don’t know if this means the plugs should be handled differently or people should just keep this in mind if they have further printer problems.
So the moral is... check the plugs next time the printer goes wonky.
Also, it's been jamming a lot due to big black PowerPoint slides, so do your best to discourage that behavior if you have the chance.
