Info for Astronomy Class Assignment

Here is the information Carolyn and I found for the Ask a Librarian questions 1." How many words are there in the hard copy version of the Encyclopedia Britannia?" 2. "How many books are there at the Musselman Library?"

Just in case any other students should ask these questions in the near future. :)

Musselman Library has 396,167 print volumes in our collection. This information as well as many other interesting “facts” can be found on the library website, http://www.gettysburg.edu/library/information/general/facts.dot.

The Encyclopedia Britannica contains 44 million words according to both the Encyclopedia’s Index and the website. For more information about the Encyclopedia see this website: http://store.britannica.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=633&itemType=PRODUCT&iMainCat=4&iSubCat=14&iProductID=633
