Reserves – changes for fall 2011

From Ronalee:

The college switched Learning Management Systems this semester from Angel to Moodle.  Those of you who answer questions about our electronic reserves may receive questions (or have them yourselves) about how that has changed e-reserves procedures.  Even though the system change has substantially changed what Lisa, Gale and Nancy have to do to put the readings and videos on reserves, you should know that the process that faculty follow to have the item placed on reserve is the same as it was for them in the past.  There is a link on the library homepage (http://www.gettysburg.edu/library/services/faculty/library-reserves-home.dot) that has links to information and forms about the items that can be put on reserve.  I’ve attached some updated handouts that we have available at the Circulation Desk, Reserves Office and online that detail more about the process.  [check your email for those handouts – she mailed them to musslib]

Students who want to access their e-reserve item will do so in Moodle.  There will be one or two folders labeled “Library Reserve Readings” or “Library Video Reserves” at the top of their course with the items we have placed in them for the professor.  Some faculty may move the folder, just as they did in Angel, so in those cases they will need to consult their professor.
